The money saved will serve to lower the contributions for private health insurance in retirement age.

The problem: The contracts are burdened with high costs and the paid-in capital only earns low interest, explains the consumer advice center. At the same time, customers often have to continue to pay the agreed amount for the relief tariff even after they reach retirement age. If you want to lower your premiums, you often save more by changing tariffs.

Mannheim (dpa) – After the temporary end of major events, comedian Michael Mittermeier (54) is expecting many small open airs next summer.

“A lot of people didn’t notice that, but regionally many small open-air concert series and festivals have sprung up all over Germany. I played at some of them. Then there were only 200 people,” Mittermeier told “Mannheimer Morgen”. “And that will probably be the main source of income for many organizers next year.”

Mittermeier has already written off spring according to his own account. “We can forget about spring. There will be no tours, not in the form in which organizers and artists can earn decent money,” said Mittermeier. “And whether that will happen in autumn is also an open question. And for many, summer is already the destination where they are going.”

Mittermeier had performed more often in drive-in theaters this year. He was “not only half happy to do it, but really happy”. Because it was the only way to perform at all. “But I don’t think the drive-in cinema will be a big issue again next year,” he said.

Together with other comedy and music stars, Mittermeier is calling for an aid program and prospects for the event industry in an initiative called “Red Alert”.

The headwind is particularly strong at the moment for the Bautzen Higher Administrative Court (OVG), which approved the meeting in the city center against the will of the Leipzig assembly authority. OVG President Erich Künzler expressed understanding. “Of course the judiciary must be able to be criticized. The opinion of the judiciary can also be affected,” he told the German press agency.

A factual criticism is a prerequisite. He clearly rejected speculation about an ideologically motivated decision. In many statements – far beyond legitimate criticism – assumptions were made that the judges of the OVG were corona deniers. It was an absurd assumption that judges in Bautzen sympathized with conspiracy theorists, said Künzler.

The former Saxon Justice Minister Geert Mackenroth had also criticized the OVG decision. The key point is the court’s assessment of whether such a gathering will take place in downtown Leipzig, the CDU politician told the MDR on Wednesday. The court had affirmed this and relied on a risk forecast by the Saxon police.

On Saturday at least 20,000 demonstrators had gathered in Leipzig, of which around 90 percent, according to the police, did not wear masks, although they are currently “compulsory” for meetings in Saxony. The city of Leipzig dissolved the rally. After that, the majority of the people forced an elevator over the Leipziger Ring.

As a consequence, the state government wants to limit fixed outdoor gatherings to 1,000 participants in the future. The prerequisite is that all participants and stewards wear a face-to-face mask and that a minimum distance of 1.5 meters is maintained between all participants. In individual cases, larger rallies should also be possible if technical and organizational measures are taken to reduce the risk of infection.

In the Leipzig city council, the organizers of the rally, the police, the OVG and Interior Minister Roland Wöller (CDU) for their measures and decisions were heavily criticized by almost all parliamentary groups in the Leipzig city council. On Thursday, the interior committee and the constitutional committee of the state parliament want to deal with the demonstration in a closed special meeting.

“There is more and we want to help even more,” said Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer on Sunday in the ARD’s “Report from Berlin”. “We are on the road in the health authorities, we help with smears, of course we also ensure part of the civilian care with our armed forces hospitals and the medical services, we help in nursing homes and we know that we are also with the vaccination strategy that is now being drawn up, also play our role, at least in logistics. “

The 20,000 forces reflect the theoretically available contingent; actually, fewer soldiers are currently deployed. 7,300 members from all areas of the Bundeswehr are currently in action as part of administrative assistance, said a spokeswoman for the defense ministry of the German press agency.

In addition to salt, pepper is probably the most frequently used spice in this country. But how healthy is pepper actually? What positive and negative effects does the spice have on the body?

The biggest misconceptions about nutrition

Pepper: Healthy for the digestion

Pepper has been used for gastrointestinal complaints since ancient times. The Greek doctor Galenus von Pergamon, who lived between 131 and 201, already knew: Pepper is healthy, because the spice can drive away digestive problems and gas when consumed.

Even in the Middle Ages, pepper was a popular spice that made heavy dishes easier to digest. The reason for the health effects of pepper is the substance piperine it contains.

Piperine stimulates the flow of saliva and the production of gastric juices, gets the body going and warms from the inside. The fabric also has an antibacterial effect.

Pepper against coughs and infections

The consumption of pepper should also help against colds. The spice has anti-inflammatory effects and also induces perspiration and reduces fever. It can be used for a sore throat, cough and bronchitis. It also warms from the inside, which can help sweat out the cold.

Be careful with large quantities

But pepper is not always healthy for everyone. In large quantities or in sensitive people, the spice can cause heartburn, as can chilli and curry. If you feel pain behind your breastbone after consuming peppered food, it is better to avoid the spice.

Where does pepper grow?

Pepper grows on a climbing plant. The spice originally comes from India. Today the spice is grown mainly in Brazil, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Different forms of pepper

Pepper is used in different colors. It is always the same plant, but the berries have a different degree of ripeness and therefore a different taste.

Experts explain: is canned fish healthy? Spice it up correctly: Pepper mills for amateur cooks Germans eat too much salt: So much salt is healthy for the body Seven reasons: why you should eat oatmeal more often Green pepper: It is harvested when it is not ripe. For consumption it is either dried or marinated in brine or vinegar. Black pepper: it is harvested almost ripe and dried. The black color only develops when it is dried. White pepper: This form consists of grains without a shell. The peppercorns are either peeled. or lose their skin when drying. The white peppercorn remains. Red pepper: Red pepper is used when the berries are ripe. The grains cannot be dried without disintegrating. The berries of the Schinus terebinthifolius plant are therefore used in colorful pepper mixtures. Sources used: Own research

Hildburghausen (dpa) – The day after the nationwide sensational Corona protest, contemplative calm returned to the southern Thuringian district town of Hildburghausen. The small pedestrian zone with its open shops seems deserted.

There are only a few buyers with masks at the weekly market on Thursday mornings. The previous evening’s “walk” of several hundred people against the hard lockdown in the district caused heads to shake among them: “It’s crazy what they’re doing,” comments a younger passerby who doesn’t want to give his name.

“Die da” – that’s about 400 people who moved through the small town on Wednesday evening despite strict exit restrictions. While the number of infections is skyrocketing in the region, protesters march “Oh, how nice it is!” singing through the streets – according to the police, sometimes without a mask and minimum distance. At the same time, the country leaders are discussing further steps to contain the pandemic in Germany with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) in a video link.

State and local politicians are stunned by the pictures from Hildburghausen. “What still has to happen before some understand the seriousness of the situation?” Asks Hildburghausen’s mayor Tilo Kummer (left) on Facebook. Entire daycare centers, schools, ambulance stations and fire departments had to be in quarantine in the past two weeks.

Thuringia’s Minister of Health, Heike Werner (Linke), also speaks plainly: “How unsolidary can one actually be? In the intensive care units, people fight for their lives.” To ignore any protective measures in such a situation in Germany’s worst hotspot would border on a criminal degree of egoism.

Nowhere in Germany, measured in terms of population, is the infection rate higher than in the rural region on the Bavarian border. Clear sources of infection have not been made out here for a long time. According to the Robert Koch Institute, on Thursday there was a new high in the Hildburghausen district of 602.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

For comparison: The heads of government of the federal and state governments see an extreme infection situation within seven days from a threshold of 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, in which stricter rules should apply. In order to break the wave of infections, drastic restrictions have been in place for the around 63,000 residents in the Hildburghausen district since the middle of the week: They are no longer allowed to leave their homes until December 13th without a valid reason, schools and kindergartens have been closed.
